Leslie Heberlie
Leslie Heberlie is the heart of communication and connectivity at St. Francis’, lending her warm voice and style expertise to our bulletins, newsletters, website and other written pieces as well as her presence in our community. She also handles our day-to-day finances, including bookkeeping and payroll. In her experience as a leader in faith-based communities, she honed not just the skills necessary to support our endeavors but also the conviction that the most important quality to supporting empowered community is authentic relationship at every level, both private and public.
Leslie most recently served at Interfaith Partnership of Greater St. Louis, where over the course of 8 years she moved from an untitled web editor to Co-Executive Director. In her time there, she deepened existing interfaith relationships and developed new ones across lines of religious difference, bringing new voices into regional dialogues and encouraging the development of social justice initiatives. She supported partnerships including Arts & Faith St. Louis and the Women’s Interfaith Conference Committee, among others.
Before that, Leslie served the United Church of Christ at a local congregation and then as the Director of Communications at their regional conference (not unlike our local Episcopal Diocese). She is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis where she met her husband Lucas. Coming to St. Francis’ is a bit of a homecoming to her as she graduated from Eureka High School.
